Acoustics Music and Video Student Competition
 
 
Summary
The ASA is funding a student competition for short audio or video presentations that present topics in acoustics to a broad audience.  Submitted works may be displayed on the ASA website.  Rules and eligibility requirements are listed below.
 
1. Competition
-    Submitted content should promote any subfield of acoustics.
-    Participants must be full-time graduate or undergraduate students.
-    Audio or video presentation submissions must be no longer than 10 minutes.
-    Participants are required to submit a 1-2 page written summary of the work intent and a signed “Transfer of copyright agreement”.
-    Judging will be based on scientific content, originality and presentation quality.  The content of the written summary will be taken into account with particular note paid to judging whether the stated intent was met.  Presentation of the written summary will not be judged, providing it is clear.
-    Awards will be $600, $400, and $200 for the first, second, and third place entries, respectively.
-    Winning submissions will be displayed at the April 2010 meeting of the Acoustical Society of America and posted on the ASA website.
-    For video submission, the written summary should be sent to asacompetition@gmail.com and should include a link to the video which can be uploaded to a video sharing site such as youtube.com.
-    For audio submission, the audio file should be sent to asacompetition@gmail.com along with the written summary.
-    By submitting an entry, the participant agrees to allow their work to be displayed on the ASA website and distributed via a podcast download.

3. Deadlines
-    To participate in the competition, please submit the work before 5pm Eastern Time, April 9, 2010.
